http://www.realestateappraisertips.info/ – Appraiser’s Twitter Accounts Setup.
Sorry for the absence. I’ve been swamped with appraisal orders for both normal appraisal refis and purchases and bulk orders of exterior only appraisals. Plus, trying to take some time off for the summer.
I’ve been spending some time and a few dollars on Twitter education, highly recommend Mark Murnahan’s book, Twitter for Business.

I’m encouraged to see the numbers of appraisers on Twitter increasing and that they’re “getting it”. I’m currently writing an article for Appraisers on the why of Twitter and kind of the mechanics needed. I’ll keep you updated on this article.
The First 2 Things You Want To Do With Your Twitter Account Upon Setup.
1.) Replace Twitter’s Default Avatar (image, see below) with a real photo of yourself, not your company logo or your dog or cat. There’s kind of a silent revolt going on on Twitter in that people that see the value of Twitter want to follow “real people” with real photos. Twitter is about getting to know real people, building relationships and suggesting your service when the right time arrives…..just like business was done 100, 50 and 25 years ago, except not online. It’s difficult to get to know the “Whole Foods” Logo, or a dog, cat, parakeet, etc… If you want to be followed on Twitter, use a real photo of yourself.

2.) Replace Twitter’s Default Cloud Background (image, see below) with a real “free” background. Use any of Twitter’s free backgrounds other than the default cloud. Using the default avatar and default cloud background appears to Twitter and Google as a spam account, not a real account. And, there’s some real “Google Juice” received using Twitter. An easy solution is to go to Free Twitter Backgrounds , enter your twitter info and they will automatically install the free theme of your choice. Or, you can spend some money and get a professional background like Brian Davis did with the http://www.twitter.com/appraisalscoop twitter background (gives a very serious and impressive first time impression)

That’s all for now!
