I have complained about this for over a decade and no one hears any Appraiser about this problem. I have had loan officers who were on prole from prision for cirmes that were conviced of and now they are handling your mortgage!
My Congress Rep and Senator did not do anything when they were notified. Now with the AMC we get to eat the bread crumbs that they throw to us. Unless we go out of this business and let them all fall, one way or another.
It looks like the Appraisal Management Companies are assigning appraisal jobs just like these same firms assign BPO jobs to agents, that is they toss out a job to 10 agents and the first one that responds gets it. Note that if
you stop for 1 minute to look up the address another agent has snagged the job, so you have to accept first, then turn it down if it’s outside your scope. None of the local Appraisal Schools are teaching the Basics of Appraisals anymore. They are all offering a weekend course that misses the point and tells these people that Appraisers can make over $100,000 per year. Ha! Ha!
These newly licensed people are just like feeding bread crumbs to fish, there’s always more fish than bread. Now who’s problem is it?
