http://www.realestateappraisertips.info/ – Real Estate Appraiser Tips! Appraisers, If You Haven’t Upgraded 3G iPhone to iOS 4.0 Yet, Don’t!
I personally upgraded my 3G iPhone to iOS 4.0 and wish I had not done that. My iPhone is so slow now, I don’t even bother to pick it up now. Seems like Apple is having some challenges these days.
I found this post about this issue from SteveReynolds blog and wanted to share it: “iPhone 3G Performance with iOS 4.0 is terrible“
A Snippet is below:
“Symptoms I’m experiencing with the current 4.0 are:
» Slow performance on pretty much all applications
» Phone slows to a crawl after +1 day use, applications fail to open and crash to the home screen.
» Battery life on 3G has dropped significantly
» Text input applications frequently lag due to (what I assume) is spell check.
These are all moot points though for me, as I will hopefully be a proud owner of a iPhone 4 in two days time. Thank the Apple gods, as I’m close to throwing my new brick of a 3G at the wall.”

Bill, that is really unfortunate for 3G owners. I upgraded my 3GS phone last week, while the backup and upgrade took an excruciating 10 hours to complete, my iPhone 3GS is much faster now, the camera takes photos at least twice as fast and the apps switch quickly. I love the multitasking so now I can listen to Pandora while looking at other apps. Multitasking also works well for several of my other apps too.
Thank you, Bryan! I’m not up for an upgrade til March 2011 I think. Even my kids who loved my iphone before the 4.0 upgrade aren’t as enthused about using it now for their games apps. I’m thinking about bringing it by the local Apple Store just to see if they can look at it. I know the local AT&T center says there’s nothing they can do. Bill
